The 30 year reunion for the Prairie du Chien High School Class of 1969...
was held Saturday night, August 14, 1999 at The Barn on Frenchtown Road. Peggy Kennedy Lenzendorf (above) and Phyllis Lenzendorf Rodriguez (left) did a superb job of pulling off this thankless task.
Name tags with graduation pictures were a useful feature at this reunion (in some cases much more than others). It's the one thing we can count on that will not change between now and the next reunion.
Following hors d'ouevres and reintroductions approximately
___
Then the class enjoyed informal conversation, reminiscences and catching up, aided by the updated class roster compiled by Peggy & Phyllis.
We found out....which former class president recently
discovered she was switched at birth; which class members are now...the
Crawford County highway Supt., working on the Miss Marquette
floating casino, and serving prison terms (but well on the way to
rehabilitation, judging by the letter that was read).

We were also saddened to learn that our classmate Mark Boxrucker had succumbed to cancer the night before the reunion. The funeral was Monday, August 16th. The class sent a floral arrangement.
We also enjoyed an evening of great 60's
music ably performed live by Mike Obmascher, Steve Ristvedt &
Dave Polodna. Bob Titlbach won the most gift certificates for
answers to the Class of 69 Trivia questions, including naming all
cheerleaders from our senior year. The answer to another survey
question: the favorite teacher mentioned most frequently by class
members was... Violet Dohse.
Linda Eggleston Smrcina has volunteered to coordinate the next class reunion, which will be on the second Saturday of August, 2004 (when we'll all be over 50). The date was selected in advance so everyone can do their planning in plenty of time to avoid conflicts.
If you have ideas for additional reunion activities (such as an afternoon picnic to get an early start on showing photos of grandkids) submit them as well to Linda. (The golf outing suggested this time around didn't go over well, in case anyone was wondering.)
The photos on this page were not meant to be a complete report of our 30-year reunion. They were shot by Barb Floyd Pease and submitted to the Class of '69 virtual home room as an afterthought. In fact the whole home room idea was an afterthought.

All of the positive feedback has been greatly appreciated.
Our apologies to those who were not featured. We'll try to do
a better job next time. In the meantime, enjoy these photos. If
you don't recognize everyone you see, you're not attending enough
class reunions!
