THE BOOK & THE SPADE TOURS: THE BACK STORY

Twenty five years of backgrounders on the Bible, describing the latest discoveries and developments in Biblical Archaeology, over 200 of the world’s top archaeologists and Bible scholars interviewed; that’s the story of The Book and the Spade that we’ll be celebrating next February with another exclusively designed Book & The Spade Holyland Study Tour.* A Study Tour is more than a pilgrimage, it’s a chance to see the traditional Holyland sites along with the most important archaeological sites that are constantly refreshing our understanding of the Biblical stories that are so important to our faith.

Our first Study Tour was in 1985, just two years after The Book & The Spade began. Our next tour was seven years later, in 1992. There were four more tours after that, up through 2001. Now, seven years later, we’re ready for another visit to see the sites of the latest discoveries that we’ve been reporting on our weekly broadcasts.

For more details contact: Gordon Govier, scribe@broadcast.net.
THE BOOK & THE SPADE is a weekly radio program and podcast. You can listen to the latest program here.

* Don’t be intimidated by the term “study tour.” All that means is that we are committed to making this trip as meaningful as possible for people who love the Bible. There are no tests and no pre-requisites. But we recognize the fact that your mind can only handle so much of a new experience so we work to help you prepare for the tour, and provide in-depth resources during the tour. We want to give you the best tour possible with a small, flexible tour group along with top quality guides and resources. We believe a tour like ours is a cost-effective investment in your spiritual growth as a believer and an experience you will remember and cherish for the rest of your life.
