The Book & The Spade Tours: An invitationFor more than thirty years The Book & The Spade radio program has been offering listeners "backgrounders on the Bible," describing the latest discoveries and developments in Biblical Archaeology that have given us new perspectives on biblical stories and personalities. We have featured over 200 of the world’s top archaeologists and Bible scholars while periodically offering exclusively designed Book & The Spade Holyland Study Tours. A Study Tour* is more than a pilgrimage, it’s an adventurous opportunity to see the traditional pilgrimage sites plus the most important archaeological sites that are regularly refreshing our understanding of the Biblical stories that are so important to our faith.
A Book and the Spade Tour is an opportunity to experience the unique history of The Holyland through the archaeological discoveries that have provided new facts about the biblical world.
On this, our eighth study tour, we will be traveling to some new locations that have been the scene of some exciting new discoveries. Sites new to this tour include:
After our first two nights in a hotel in Nazareth we will take our lodgings for the rest of the tour at kibbutz guest houses adjacent to archaeological sites:
Meanwhile, you can keep up with the latest archaeological discoveries and developments by tuning in to THE BOOK & THE SPADE weekly radio program and podcast and by subscribing to our quarterly archaeological magazine, ARTIFAX.
* Don’t be intimidated by the term “study tour.” All that means is that we are committed to making this trip as meaningful as possible for people who love the Bible. There are no tests and no pre-requisites. But we recognize the fact that your mind can only handle so much of a new experience so we work to help you prepare for the tour, and provide in-depth resources during the tour. We want to give you the best tour possible with a small, flexible tour group along with top quality guides and resources. We believe a tour like ours is a cost-effective investment in your spiritual growth as a believer and an experience you will remember and cherish for the rest of your life. This is not a typical Holyland tour.
